The Ministry of Agriculture says that 62 percent of the paddy in Haor has been harvested

About 62 per cent of the boro paddy in the haor is harvested by the farmers. There is still 38percent left. And 14 percent is ripe. 24 percent boro paddy is not ripe yet.

This information was given in a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday (April 29).

According to the Department of Agricultural Extension, Boro paddy has been planted in 4,45,399 hectares of land in Haor alone this year in Kishoreganj, Netrokona, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Sylhet and Brahmanbaria.

Of this, 2.84 lakh hectares of paddy has been harvested till (April 29) which is 74 percent. In Sylhet 75 per cent, in Moulvibazar 62 per cent, in Habiganj 55 per cent, in Sunamganj 75 per cent, in Netrokona 64 per cent, in Brahmanbaria 70 per cent and in Kishoreganj 47 per cent boro paddy has been harvested.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture to encourage and sympathize with farmers and workers. Md. Abdur Razzak is going to inspect farmers’ boro paddy harvest in Haor in South Sunamganj, Sadar and Tahirpur upazilas of Sunamganj on Wednesday.
