West Indies beat Bangladesh by 3 runs in their third match of Super 12 phase in the ICC Mens Twenty20 World Cup-2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Friday (October 29).

Windies scored 142 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

In chase, Bangladesh managed to register 139 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Wicket-keeper Liton Das hit 44 runs from 43 balls with 4 boundaries.

Skipper Mahmudullah Riyad (unbeaten) smashed 31 runs off 24 balls while Afif Hossain (unbeaten) scored 2 runs.

Opener Mohammad Naim and Soumya Sarkar bagged 17 runs each.

For West Indies, Ravi Rampaul, Jason Holder, Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein and Dwayne Bravo shared a wicket each.

Earlier in their innings, Nicholas Pooran hit a quick innings of 40 runs off 22 balls which includes a boundary and four over boundaries.

Roston Chase scored 39 runs from 46 balls with two boundaries.

Jason Holder (unbeaten) posted 15 runs while skipper Kieron Pollard (unbeaten) bagged 14 runs.

Shimron Hetmyer scored 9 runs while Evin Lewis and Chris Gayle hit 6 and 4 runs respectively.

For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam and Mahedi Hasan shared two wickets each.
