Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested BNP Executive Committee Member Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury.

She was arrested from her residence of the capital’s Rayerbazar area on Sunday (March 28) afternoon.

Lt Col Ashik Billah, director of Rab Legal and Media Wing, confirmed this.

He said, “Nipun Roy was arrested over the incident of setting fire on buses at the capital’s Sayedabad and Malibagh on Saturday (March 27).”

According to RAB sources, Nipun planned to carry out sabotage activities all over the country including the capital. As part of this, buses were set on fire at various places in the capital including Jatrabari and Malibagh. She was arrested for this reason. Others involved in sabotage and conspiracy will be arrested and handed over to the law.”
