The government has issued a gazette notification, withdrawing the banning order of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued the notification on Wednesday (August 28).

The notification said the charges that brought against Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir are totally false, baseless. Review committee of the home ministry did not get any involvement of Jamaat and Shibir in the recent sabotage activities. For this, the gazette notification regarding the decision of banning Jamaat and Shibir was lifted.

Earlier, the former Awami League government had imposed a ban on Jamaat on August 1.
