17 Bad news for educational institutions

17 educational institutions have been excluded from the list of MPO enrollment. Due to lack of qualifications, these institutions of different categories have been left out by the verification and selection committee. The Ministry of Education released the final list of MPOs on Wednesday (April 29).

Apart from madrasas and technical colleges, MPO enrollment of 1,833 educational institutions has been finalized after screening in five categories from lower secondary to degree. However, on October 23, 1,650 MPOs were announced in these categories. 18 institutions have been left out of these institutions.

In this case, out of 439 lower secondary schools (6th-8th), 430 have been finalized. 991 out of 994 secondary schools (6th-10th), all of the 8 high schools (eleventh to twelfth), one out of 93 colleges (eleventh to twelfth) have been dropped. Out of 56 degree colleges, 52 have been finalized.

Meanwhile, 358 madrasa educational institutions, 126 alims, 42 fazils, 29 kamils; Although 72 technical education institutes, agriculture 175, vocational 175 and HSC (BM) 273 are registered in MPO, they have not yet received the final code. Education Minister. Dipu Moni has instructed the officials of the Technical and Madrasa Department to prepare a final list of these institutions soon.

Mominur Rashid Amin, Additional Secretary, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education, who heads the list of MPO-registered institutions, said that after the MPO registration, various allegations were made against some institutions. Some organizations are registered with MPO with wrong information. According to the policy-2017, the organizations which had discrepancies in the information have been left out. If there is still a complaint, it will be checked and sorted.

Teachers and employees of private educational institutions who are not MPO members have been protesting since 2010 demanding MPO registration. On this basis, about 9,000 non-MPO educational institutions applied online for MPO registration in 2016. After verification and selection of this application, on 23 October 2019, on the direction of the Prime Minister, 2,630 non-MPO educational institutions were listed for MPO registration. The MPO code is given after a long six months. The teachers and employees of these educational institutions who got the new MPO will get the fixed salary allowance from July last year (2019).

It is learned that the coding of teachers and employees will start after the coding of the institution is completed. This process will be completed quickly. Teachers and employees will get their salaries within the current financial year.

Among the conditions given in the notification are: Private Educational Institutions (Schools and Colleges) Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2018, teachers and employees will be entitled to salaries and allowances. However, the qualification and experience recruitment circular of teachers and staff will be applicable in accordance with the manpower structure and MPO policy.

If any of the educational institutions which have been included in the MPO fails to maintain their qualifications as per the policy, the MPO of that institution will be suspended. Salary allowances of teachers and staff will be effective from July 1, 2019.
