Mohammedan’s Lokman on 2-day remand

The court placed Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, director-in-charge of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, on a two-day remand in a case lodged under Narcotics Control Act.
On Friday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sorafuzzaman Ansari passed the order as police produced Lokman before the court and pleaded to place him on a five-day remand.
Team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 arrested Lokman, also a director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, from Tejgaon Monipuripara home on the night of September 25, for running casino by renting a part of his club. RAB recovered four bottles of foreign liquor from his home.
The elite crime-busting agency filed the case against him with Tejgaon Police Station and handed him over to them at 6:00 pm on September 26.
RAB sources said Lokman in the primary interrogation confessed earning crores from the casino in Mohammedan Club and deposited the money in two Australian bank accounts.
