A new kind of insecticide will be used in all wards of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by turns from Thursday in order to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquito population.

The new insecticide “Malathion”, which has been imported from China, is generally used outdoors to control a wide variety of insects in agricultural settings and around people’s homes. It is also used to kill mosquito in different countries.

Malathion is more effective than the one used before and recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam came up with the information while addressing a press conference at Gulshan’s Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
