Shops and shopping malls remain open from 9 am to 5 pm amid lockdown
Bangladesh government has decided to keep open all markets, shops and shopping malls from 9 am to 5 pm till 13 April amid coronavirus lockdown.
The cabinet division issued a gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Md Rezaul Islam in this regard on Thursday noon.
According to the gazette, “markets, shops and shopping malls will remain open from 9am to 5pm every day maintaining health guidelines, and shopping malls will have to make arrangements for hand-washing at their entrances.”
Earlier, the government imposed a week-long lockdown from April 5 to prevent spread of coronavirus and issued a gazette notification closing all shops and markets.
However, shop owners and employees demonstrated demanding reopening their shops.
