State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, launch fare is going to increase by 60 percent. However, the increased fare will not be applied to the cabin passengers.

The minister made the remarks while addressing reporters at his secretariat office on Thursday (April 01).

He said, “We have increased the fare by 60 percent like the bus fare. But, the cabin fare will not be hiked.”

Requesting not to change locations without emergency, he further said, the second wave of Coronavirus has hit. We have to follow the health guidelines. If the guidelines are not followed or it is violated then action will be taken according to law.

Shipping Ministry secretary Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury, BIWTA Chairman Commodore Golam Sadeq attended the function.
