Bangladesh was beated by New Zealand over 66 runs in 1st T20
New Zealand showed a great performance in the 1st T20 against Bangladesh to assure an easy 66-run victory in Hamilton on Sunday (March 28).
Chasing a target of 211 runs, Bangladesh got off to a poor start with Liton Das (4) getting out in just the third over. He was caught behind off Tim Southee’s delivery. Lockie Ferguson, in the fifth over dismissed Mohammad Naim (27).
Continuing the brilliant bowling form the Black Caps side, Ish Sodhi then picked his third wicket of the day, removing Soumya Sarkar (5) in the sixth over. Mohammad Mithun (4) and Mahmudullah (11) also failed to stitch a quality partnership as Ish Sodhi picked them both.
For Bangladesh, Nasum Ahmed scalped two wickets while Mahedi Hasan picked only one wicket.
Earlier, after opting to bat first, New Zealand a shaky start. Finn Allen was bowled out by Nasum Ahmed in the first over. But, dashing batting from Conway and Will Phillips propelled Kiwis to score 210 runs.
