A Dhaka court has placed five people, who were arrested with snake venom worth Tk 85 crore from the capital’s Rampura area, on a three-day remand each.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order on Saturday (January 9).

The accused are Shafiqul Islam, Md Dulal, Jahurul Haque, Sajibar Rahman and Moklesur Rahman.

Investigation Officer of the case produced them before the court seeking seven days remand.

Earlier on Friday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 arrested the five, supposedly members of an international snake venom smuggling racket, during a drive in the area.
