Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has tested positive for Covid-19.

Senior Information Officer of the foreign ministry Towhidul Islam confirmed the news.

He is now doing fine and is in isolation, he said.

He was scheduled to leave for Nigeria on Wednesday morning to attend the 47th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM).

The planned visit was cancelled as he got the Covid-19 test report on Tuesday.

He went for Covid-19 test as per rules before travelling abroad.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold the meeting on the theme “United against Terrorism for Peace and Development” on November 27-28.
