At least 15 people died of coronavirus or Covid-19 infection in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 5,623 across the country so far.

Besides, 1,527 new cases were detected over the same period, taking the total number of infected cases to 3,86,086 across the country.

A total of 1,509 people have recovered from the virus infection over the same period, raising the total recoveries to 3,00,738.

A press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the development on Friday (October 16).
