Crisis of Principals, Vice-Principals in colleges being solved

The authorities of government colleges face trouble to take decisions about various important issues due to the lack of principals and vice-principals. As a result, many issues remain pending.

Sources of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education said, this crisis is going to end soon.

It is known, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education issued letter to local directors seeking list of the government colleges where no principal, vice-principal. Nine local directors of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education were directed to submit the list within October 5.

Prof Syed Golam Faruk, director general of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education said, “Some teachers are working as acting principal and vice-principals in many colleges. This is why, many problems of those educational institutions remain pending.

He said, “There is no alternative of making regularization of those posts to solve academic, administrative, infrastructure and other problems. We sought a list of such colleges. Hope, the problem will be solved soon.”

The number of government colleges in the country is 632. Of them, 141 posts of principals are vacan. And 28 vice-principal’s posts are vacant.
