BNP leader Dulu sent to jail, 11 put on remand
BNP organising secretary and former deputy minister of Land Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu has been sent to jail in a case filed over a subversion case with Badda Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider passed the order on Wednesday (October 18) following hearing in the case.
Besides, the court placed eleven more accused on a two-day remand in the case.
The remanded accused are Bhola District Jubo Dal president Jamal Uddin, organising secretary Monir Hossain, Maksudur Rahman, Golam Mostofa, Abir Islam Sattar, Taj Mohammad Khan alias Mamun, Shimul Mia, Sohel, Mostak Hossain Munna, Abdul Mannan Sheikh Babu and Shahinur Rahman.
Earlier, DB’s Gulshan Zonal Team’s SI Ripon Mia, also the investigation officer of the case, produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place each of them on a five-day remand and keep Dulu detained in jail.
According to the case documents, acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a special drive in Boithakhali 30 feet road area in Badda on October 17. At around 7:55pm, as police reached the area, the accused pounced on them with local weapons, leaving SI Manik Kumar Sikder, ASI Md Al Mamun Pervez and constable Motahar Hossain seriously injured.
