A college girl in Sunamganj jumped off a moving bus after the driver and helper attempted to rape her in Second Golra area of Saturia upazila in Manikganj.

The bus driver attempted to rape the college girl, a first-year student of Manikganj Government Debendra College, after all the passengers of the bus got down at the place this noon (November 6).

Police have already detained the accused bus driver. The detainee is – Khokon Mia, 28, son of Sirajul Islam, hailed from Beparipara of Delduar in Tangail.

Md Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Golra Highway Police Station confirmed the matter.
