Six youth have arrested by police in a case filed for allegedly capturing video after raping a schoolgirl in Chuadanga.

The victim’s father filed the case with Chuadanga police station accusing 13 youths on the night of Monday (April 19).

Following the case, the six youths including the key accused Jubayer Hossain Jim were arrested after carrying out drives in Kedarganj area of the district and its adjacent areas on that night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chuadanga Sadar Police Abu Jihad Fakrul Alam Khan said Jubayer Hossain Jim developed a relationship with an eighth grader on Facebook around eight months ago. On March 25 last, taking advantage of the friendship, Jim abducted the girl and raped her forcibly after confining her in a house. During the rape, he captured some photos and video of raping her. Later, he took away cash money and gold ornaments from the girl, showing those photos and video.

On April 19, Jim and his associates again demanded Tk one lakh more from the girl in name of blackmailing her to post those obscene photos on Facebook. The victim later informed her family about the matter.
