At least 500 vehicles are waiting at Paturia ferry ghat.Pressure of vehicles on ferry ghat has increased as people are making their way for their village homes, ignoring the health safety guidelines amid countrywide lockdown.

On the other hand, for their homebound rush, the vehicles on Dhaka-Aricha highway are waiting for their turn to get on board the ferry at Paturia ghat to cross the Padma river.

Mohiuddin Rasel, assistant manager (commerce) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) in Aricha ferry ghat, confirmed this  around 9:15am on Tuesday (April 13).
