Shab-e-Barat, the Night of Fortune and Forgiveness, will be observed on March 29 night in Bangladesh.

The National Moon Sighting Committee made the decision on Sunday (March 14). The decision was taken at a meeting of the moon sighting committee at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the evening.

Shab-e-Barat is celebrated 15 days before the arrival of Ramadan.

Muslim men offer special prayers at mosques, families exchange bread and sweets, and give handouts to the poor on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
