Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Bill-2021 (Amendment) has been passed in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS).

The bill was unanimously passed by voice votes with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair when Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque moved the bill in the House on Monday (February 01).

The bill incorporates provision to create ample scope of widened education on medical science and research for the people.

Placing the bill, the minister said the enactment of the bill will help to disseminate medical education and research for the people.

Jatiya party lawmaker Shamim Haider Patwary, Fakhrul Imam, Pir Fazlur Rahman, Raushanara Mannan, Independent lawmaker Rezaul Karim Bablu, Gano Forum lawmaker Mokabbir Khan, BNP lawmakers Harunur Rashid and Rumeen Farhana discussed on demanding reviewing public opinion.

Earlier, the cabinet in principal approved a draft of the “Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Act-2020” to establish a medical university in the Khulna division.
