At least 13 people died of coronavirus infection in the country in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 7,862 across the country so far.

Besides, some 762 new cases were detected over the same period, taking the total number of infected cases to 5,26,485 across the country.

A press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the development on Friday (January 15).

A total of 718 people have recovered from the virus infection over the same period, raising the total recoveries to 4,71,123.
