Be skilled before going abroad: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged those wishing to go abroad to be skilled so that they cannot fall into a trap of brokers.

“Don’t rush to go abroad like blinds as there is a possibility to fall into a trap of brokers,” she said while addressing a function organized on the occasion of International Migrants Day on Wednesday (January 6) morning.

The premier joined the function through a video conference from her official residence Ganabhaban.

Sheikh Hasina said, “The present government is working for the welfare of the expatriates. We are also creating an opportunity for the self-employment of the expatriates who have returned to country due to coronavirus.”

“First of all, you have to set the exact purpose before you go abroad. You have to receive training on that. It is necessary to mention that we are creating enough opportunities for attaining skill. As part of our efforts to create opportunities, we are setting up training centres in various places of the country,” she said.

Informing that every upazila will have a technical training centre, the prime minister said, “We have already undertaken a new project to build up 100 technical training centres.”
