Barbed wire fence to be set up around Rohingya camps: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government has taken a decision of setting up barbed wire fences around Rohingya camps for strengthening security.

The minister said this while talking to the reporters at his own office in the Secretariat on Wednesday (January 06) noon.

He said, “The decision of setting up barbed wire fences around Rohingya camps had taken earlier. Not only fences, there will also be walk ways around the camps.  There will be set up close circuit cameras. All these measures have been taken to strengthen securities.”

Home Minister said, “We have taken decision in the meeting to complete the project in short time. The project will be implemented by Army. Patrol will be increased.”

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “The curious people could not go to Bhashanchar without any need. I would like to inform this through you (journalists), so that the curious people refrain from visiting Bhashanchar. This decision has been taken (in the meeting) so that the curious people do not go to Bhashanchar and create another problem there without any need.”

Rohingyas were not shifted there forcibly. Only those who agreed, they were relocated to Bhashanchar.
