Instructions issued over no-mask, no service: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said instructions have been issued to implement no-mask, no-service policy to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the coming winter season.
The Premier said this while replying to a written a question made by Awami League MP Didarul Alam during the PM’s question and answer session in the Parliament on Wednesday (November 18).
PM said, “Under the visionary leadership of the present government, timely decisions and efficient management have so far been able to successfully fight against Covid-19 epidemic. Although the infection of Covid-19 in Bangladesh has decreased a bit at the moment, experts opined that it may increase again at any moment or in the coming winter. Meanwhile, the second wave has started in Europe and America. The government has made extensive preparations to fight the current situation and a possible second wave.”
She further said, “Bangladesh Preparedness and Response Plan (BPRP)’ has been prepared for the prevention and control of Covid-19 and activities are being carried out according to that plan. Six committees have been formed at the national level to coordinate the activities taken across the country to fight against coronavirus.”
PM said, “Extensive research is essential in controlling the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. To this end, new research projects are being called for including new researches. International links have been established for study.”
