Saudi govt extends visa validity for Bangladeshi workers

Foreign Affairs Minister A K Abdul Momen said the government of Saudi Arabia has extended validity of visas for Bangladeshi workers until October 30.

He came up with the development to the reporters on Wednesday (October 07) evening.

Bangladeshi migrants who had returned home on leave from Saudi Arabia stuck here due to coronavirus pandemic. In the meantime, their work permit (Iqama) has extended for four times. However, many of the migrants fell in worries over flying back to Saudi Arabia as their visas and Iqama expired.

In this situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter to the Saudi Arabia government requesting to extend the visa and expiration of Iqama. In view of this, after extending the validity of Iqama, the validity of visas was also extended.
