Update on US recognition of Globe vaccine on Sunday
The leading US medical journal “Biorxiv” has opined that BANCOVID, the first D614G variant mRNA-based vaccine candidate against SARS-CoV-2 made by Globe Biotech, a Bangladeshi pharmaceutical company, is found resistance against coronavirus.
With this recognition, Globe Biotech reached an important milestone in fighting against coronavirus.
A press conference, on the completion of controlled pre-clinical trials and preparation for clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine invented by the Globe Biotech, is scheduled to be held at its corporate office in the capital’s Tejgaon at 11:00am on Sunday (October 4).
Asif Mahmud, head of Research and Development of Globe Biotech Ltd came up with the information to media.
Globe Biotech announced invention of the vaccine for the first time as only domestic company. The trial of the vaccine on animals has recently completed.
Now it will submit an application to Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) for a human trial of the vaccine.
A total of 169 vaccine development projects are underway to combat the coronavirus. 26 of them are in the experimental stage on human bodies. Meanwhile in the last July, Globe Biotech announced the success of experimental application on bodies of 8 rabbits.
Then, Globe has recently completed the experimental vaccination of more than a thousand rats on the basis of age, sex and weight in accordance with the World Health Organization’s policy.
Highlighting the results, the scientists of the institute claimed that the vaccine has overcome well in terms of safety and effectiveness.
Globe officials were waiting for the results of the experimental application on animals to be published in any International Journal of Science, which was published two days ago in the US medical journal “Biorxiv”.
Globe scientists said that the application for experimental application on human body will be made this month. If everything goes well, the coronavirus vaccine will be ready by January.
