One third of hospitalized patients in the UK have died

Researchers at the University of Liverpool have claimed that one-third of coronavirus patients admitted to hospitals in the UK have died. They say the results of the study are based on analysis of data on the recovery and death of corona patients admitted to more than 150 hospitals across the country.

The BBC reports that the research report from the University of Liverpool was released on Wednesday.

In the UK, one-third of those admitted to hospital for coronary heart disease died at the hospital, the report said. Less than half of the patients have been discharged from the hospital and the rest are still receiving treatment.

Professor Calum Sample, head of the research team, said the hospital mortality rate was similar to that of the Ebola epidemic. He claimed that about 35 to 40 percent of hospitalized patients died during the Ebola outbreak.

“People need to hear it … it’s an incredibly dangerous disorder,” said Professor Callum.

Researchers at the University of Liverpool have conducted a massive study of 17,000 Corona patients from 17 hospitals in the United Kingdom. Obesity and age increase the risk of dying from the disease, they say.

So far, 1 lakh 71 thousand 145 people have been infected with this deadly virus in the United Kingdom. And 21 thousand 6 people have died due to this.
