Qatar flight allowed to land on humanitarian ground
A flight of Qatar Airways carrying Bangladeshi passengers, including 96 from Italy and Germany, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday evening.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) took the decision on humanitarian grounds, despite the government asking all airlines not to carry passengers from European countries — except UK — to Bangladesh till March 31, following the coronavirus outbreak around the world.
Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, chairman of CAAB said the flight was allowed on humanitarian grounds. But all the returnees will be kept in mandatory quarantine for 14 days at Ashkona Hajj Camp.
