The Akari Munajat Akari Munajat begins

The Akari Munajat (final prayers) of the second phase of three-day 55th Biswa Ijtema, one of the largest congregations of Muslims, began at the Ijtema ground at 11.49 am.

Noted Islamic scholar Maulana Jamshed conducting the munajat.

People from all walks of life, including cabinet members, lawmakers, professionals, and political leaders, are joining the Akheri Munajat.

Loudspeakers have been set up at all directions beyond the Ijtema ground to facilitate people to listen to the munajat.

Additional security measures have been put in place ahead of today’s Akheri Munajat.

The second phase of 55th Bishwa Ijtema began after Fajr prayers on Friday with the ‘Aam Boyan (religious sermon) by Islamic scholars and prayers.

Lakhs of pilgrims and a large number of people from the capital Dhaka and adjacent areas joined Jumma prayers Friday on Biswa Ijtema ground.

After Fajr prayers on Saturday, Islamic scholars delivered a sermon.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Anwar Hossain said adequate measures have been taken to ensure

Gazipur City Corporation, district administration, police, RAB and Ansar and VDP have set up separate control rooms to monitor the overall activities of the Tongi Ijtema.

Tabling Jamaat has been organizing the Ijtema at this venue since 1967. However, the Ijtema is held in two phases since 2011 to ease the accommodation problem.
