Erdogan is the best Muslim personality of the year 2000
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been declared “the world’s Muslim personality by 2000,” an Islamist newspaper in Nigeria said.
The newspaper claims that he has been given the title to stand up for the rights of Muslims around the world.
Muslim News Nigeria publisher Rashed Abu Bakar said that there was no dispute between Erdogan being selected for this title, given the power and influence he has possessed in the international community and the Muslim world.
Earlier in the year 2000, the magazine also declared him a world Muslim personality.
Publisher Abu Bakr said he was awarded this title because of his influence around the world.
He also said that the president of Turkey always favors the victims. Erdogan has always been seen in Syria, Myanmar, Rohingya persecution, Kashmir and the Palestinian issue.
In addition, Erdogan has organized a Kuala Lumpur conference to unite the Muslim world.
Also on the list of global Muslim personalities are Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed, Somali-born U.S. Congressman Ilhan Omar, Gambia’s President Adama Barro, and Turkish-born German football star Mesut Ozil.
