2 Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing
Two Bangladeshi citizens have been killed and two others injured reportedly in the firing of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) at Owahedpur border in Chapainawabganj.
The incident took place around 10.30 pm on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Selim Reza, 24, son of Tofjul Haque at Sarkarpara village under the Paka union of Shibganj Upazila, and Sumon, 23, son of Belal Hossain at Porapara village of the same Upazila.
According to local sources, a group of cattle traders was returning to the country with cattle from India. At one stage, BSF shot them near 166 no Pillar, leaving Selim and Sumon dead on the spot and two others injured.
Lt. Col. Mahbubur Rahman, commander of BGB-53 in Chapainawabganj Battalion, confirmed the matter.
