Four to die for killing trader
A Brahmanbaria court has sentenced four people to death penalty in a case filed over killing cosmetics and imitation trader Abdul Hannan Bahar, 45 of Banchharampur of the district.
District and Sessions Judge Court Mohammad Safiul Azam passed the order on Monday noon.
The death-row convicts are: Nuru Mia, son of late Abu Mia of Kanikara village of Nabingar upazila in Brahmanbaria, Ziaul Haque, son of Abdus Sattar of Moklishpur under Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla, Lokman, son of Bhutto Khan of Bangra village of the same upazila and Kadir Hossain, son of Abdul Bari of Kamarchar village of the same upazila.
Another accused named Babul Mia had died of on June 16, 2018 in jail. So, he was acquitted from the case.
Of the convicts, Ziaul Haque was present in the court while other are in hiding since they secured bail.
Bahar was killed as he wanted due money from Lokman at Cumilla.
