Ruling Awami League lawmaker (Dhaka-10) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has resigned from parliament.

He submitted his resignation letter to the Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Sunday noon, after he was announced mayoral candidate to contest the upcoming Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) election for Awami League.

His media coordinator Tariq Shikder confirmed the news.
