{"id":8842,"date":"2024-06-15T07:39:34","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T07:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/?p=8842"},"modified":"2024-06-15T07:39:34","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T07:39:34","slug":"traffic-movement-returns-to-normal-on-dhaka-tangail-bangabandhu-bridge-highway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/2024\/06\/15\/traffic-movement-returns-to-normal-on-dhaka-tangail-bangabandhu-bridge-highway\/","title":{"rendered":"Traffic movement returns to normal on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Traffic movement on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway has returned to normal after disruption of about ten hours.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicles started running after 11am on Saturday (June 15).<\/p>\n<div class=\"adv-img text-center d-print-none\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a 14-km long traffic jam brought the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway to a standstill, stretching from the east side of Bangabandhu Bridge to Elenga in Kalihati upazila of Tangail.<\/p>\n<p>This situation was created due to the increased number of North Bengal-bound vehicles on the highway and suspension of toll collection on the bridge more than once at night ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, one of the largest religious festivals for Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>The traffic congestion began early Saturday (June 15), causing inconvenience to home-bound travellers and vehicle drivers during the Eid season.<\/p>\n<p>Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station Alamgir said, \u201cVehicles started running on the highway.
