State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu today said no one would be able to do
\nhoarding of essential commodities, if sufficient supply is available in the market.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur first priority is to improve the market system of\u00a0commodities. If there is sufficient supply of commodities,
\nthen none will be able to do hoarding. We\u2019ve talked with the\u00a0suppliers of food commodities in this regard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The State Minister said this while replying to different\u00a0queries from reporters after inaugurating the riverbank
\nprotection work of different areas under Nagarpur upazila of\u00a0Tangail and Daulatpur upazila of Manikganj district along the
\nRiver Jamuna today.<\/p>\n
Later, Ahsanul visited the erosion-prone areas of River\u00a0Jamuna.<\/p>\n
Mentioning that the state-run Trading Corporation of\u00a0Bangladesh (TCB) is conducting operations to sell essential
\nitems among some one crore low-income group families at\u00a0subsidized prices throughout the year including the Holy Month
\nof Ramadan, Ahsanul said that the government has already taken\u00a0initiatives so that the prices of commodities remain within
\nthe purchasing power of the common people.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll be successful in such operations in the future also and\u00a0don\u2019t lose trust and confidence on us. The first priority in
\nthe election manifesto announced by the Prime Minister was to\u00a0keep the prices of essentials within the purchasing power of
\npeople. The TCB is providing food commodities to some one\u00a0crore families while its volume and coverage will be
\nexpanded,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Earlier yesterday, people from all walks of life of\u00a0Goyhata Union accorded a reception to Ahsanul Islam Titu at
\nGoyhata Uday Tara High School Ground under Nagarpur upazila in\u00a0Tangail for becoming the State Minister for Commerce from the
\nTangail-6 (Delduar-Nagarpur) constituency.<\/p>\n
