They were chanting various slogans protesting the destruction of communal harmony.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the demonstration caused heavy traffic congestions on different routes linked to the intersection.<\/p>\n<p>Many vehicles were seen lined up around the Shahbag intersection. Severe traffic jams were seen at Kantaban, Farmgate, Bijaynagar, Kakrail, Malibag, Bailey Road and surrounding areas, leaving commuters in immense sufferings.<\/p>\n<p>Shahbagh police station duty officer sub-inspector (SI) Shahabuddin told risingbd that since 12:00 pm on Friday, people of various Hindu organizations started to come to the Shahbag intersection to protest the destruction of communal harmony. After 4:00 pm they blocked sat down on the road and blocked the intersection.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcers are trying to clear the road by removing them. Being informed, senior police and RAB officials rushed to the spot.
