Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said that another 7 crore doses of COVAX vaccine will come in the country by November this year.<\/p>\n
The health minister disclosed the information while addressing a discussion organised at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.<\/p>\n
\u201cCountrywide vaccination programme is being strengthened at the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Use facemask and maintain social distance to avoid Covid-19 infections,\u201d Maleque said.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cCOVAX has become a major source of Covid-19 vaccine for Bangladesh. Bangladesh has already received around 89 lakh doses of COVAX vaccine. Another 10 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine gifted by the Chinese government have arrived in Dhaka as the last consignment.\u201d<\/p>\n
On May 12, China gifted Bangladesh five lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the first consignment and six lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine on June 13 in the second consignment and another ten lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine on August 13 in the third consignment.<\/p>\n
With the last consignment, Bangladesh has so far received a total of 21 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine as the gift of the Chinese government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
