Terming the era of the incumbent government as the period of development and progress, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has said livelihoods of all people across the country have also been uplifted with the development of all sectors during the last 12 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the era, vast development and progress have been taken place at all sectors along with uplift of livelihood of all people in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The minister came up with the views while uncovering a photo album \u2018Sachithra Bangabandhu\u2019 at the meeting room of his ministry at Secretariat on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Department of Films and Publications (DFP) published the album.<\/p>\n
State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan, DFP director general SM Golam Kibria and senior editor of the album Md Kamruzzaman, among others, addressed the function.<\/p>\n
Hasan said poverty has been reduced to a great extent and people are not seen wearing torn cloths or barefoot in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwelve years ago, we told that we will build a hunger-free and poverty-free Bangladesh. Now, the country is almost self-sufficient in food and it turned into a middle-income country from least developed one under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Comparing the progress of Bangladesh in different indexes with Pakistan and India, the information minister said Bangladesh has left behind Pakistan in all the indexes and neighboring India in some indexes.<\/p>\n
Dr Murad urged all to remain in unison to build the \u2018Sonar Bangla\u2019 dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu\u2019s worthwhile daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
