New England Awami League in the US state of Massachusetts has demanded the establishment of a memorial sculpture of Bangabandhu in Dhaka.<\/p>\n
The demand was made by the leaders and workers of New England Awami League in a virtual meeting of Victory Day last Sunday.<\/p>\n
Speakers at the meeting said that a conspiracy has been started to destroy the history and heritage of independence by creating obstacles in the development of Bangladesh through the rise of fundamentalism.<\/p>\n
They demanded to break the poisonous teeth of the fundamentalists engaged in implementing the BNP-Jamaat agenda behind the custody to show their vision of breaking the sculpture of Bangabandhu and declared to resist them everywhere.<\/p>\n
The speakers further said that whenever we go to the country, we always forget about the development activities of the country. The construction of the Padma Bridge with its own funds has further brightened the image of Bangladesh in the world.<\/p>\n
They expressed deep gratitude for the contribution of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the continuous development of the country and mentioned that Sheikh Hasina has no alternative in the country.<\/p>\n
They wished Sheikh Hasina a long life and called upon her to strengthen her hand for the uninterrupted welfare of the country and the people.
\nThe meeting was presided by film director and Awami League leader Nurul Haque Bachchu and performance by former general secretary Suhas Barua.<\/p>\n
