Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said a talented person like Sheikh Kamal and who was involved in sports and cultural arena could give a lot to the country if he remained alive.<\/p>\n
The premier said this while joining a virtual discussion from her official residence Ganobhaban in the capital on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The programme was arranged marking the 71st birth anniversary of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Youth and Sports arranged the discussion and doa mahfil at the Jatiya Krira Parishad Bhaban.<\/p>\n
She said, \u2018The very spirit of the Liberation War has been destroyed on August 15, 1975. Army officers have killed the father of the nation and his family members as well as colleagues.\u2019<\/p>\n
Recalling Sheikh Kamal, she said, \u2018As ason of Prime Minister, Sheikh Kamal did nothing for himself, but he had to be accommodated with his wife on the second floor of house 32 in Dhanmondi after marriage.\u2019<\/p>\n
She added, \u2018Even though all the children went to school holding their father\u2019s hand, we did not get that opportunity. As father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dedicated his life for the welfare of the country and the people, the eldest son of the family Sheikh Kamal had to play sports and culture since childhood as well as fulfill many responsibilities of the family with his mother.<\/p>\n
