In response to his demand, the first dormitory of Dhaka University was named &#8216;Rokeya Hall&#8217;. In 1971, when the government of Pakistan banned the broadcasting of Rabindra Sangeet on the radio, a movement was formed to protest against it. He is the founder of the children&#8217;s organization Kachikanchar Mela.<\/p>\n<p>She said her direct presence in the language movement of &#8217;52, mass uprising of &#8217;69, non-cooperation movement of &#8217;71 and liberation war and various democratic struggles in independent Bangladesh, including education and cultural movement, earned her the title of &#8216;Janani Sahasika&#8217; of the people. In his memory, the Bangladesh Awami League government built &#8216;Begum Sufia Kamal Hall&#8217; for the students of Dhaka University.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister said that when the greatest Bengali of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was brutally assassinated on August 15, 1975, when the turn of the country&#8217;s history began to be distorted, his vocal role gave new impetus to the pro-liberation democratic forces in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister paid deep homage to the memory of Begum Sufia Kamal, one of the pioneers of the democratic and women&#8217;s liberation movement, on her birthday and prayed for the forgiveness of the poet&#8217;s soul.<\/p>\n<p>Mentioning that poet Begum Sufia Kamal was born in Barisal on 20 June 1911 and died in Dhaka on 20 November 1999, Sheikh Hasina said she was a portrait of a wandering Bengali woman on the one hand and her uncompromising and steadfast walk in every movement and struggle in Bengal on the other.<\/p>\n<p>In the message, she sang Sufia Kamal&#8217;s &#8216;After a long time, I remember today, the lap of the village-mother&#8217;, &#8216;I tied the wildness in Jhaushakhe, I ate it with joy&#8217;, Part of the poem specifically mentions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the writings of Begum Sufia Kamal on various topics including country, nature, democracy, social reform, women&#8217;s emancipation and children&#8217;s writing still inspire and inspire the readers.
