{"id":3146,"date":"2020-01-10T20:31:31","date_gmt":"2020-01-10T20:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.jonotarsomoy.com\/?p=3146"},"modified":"2020-01-10T20:31:31","modified_gmt":"2020-01-10T20:31:31","slug":"clash-in-mujib-year-celebration-programme-30-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/2020\/01\/10\/clash-in-mujib-year-celebration-programme-30-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"Clash in Mujib Year celebration programme, 30 injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At least 30 people were injured as two groups of Awami League leaders and activists locked into clash during a celebration of Mujib Year countdown programme at Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>It was learnt that supporters of Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, MP, locked into a clash with people of the Upazila chairman Syed Nazul Islam on the Upazila premises during the programme. Chase and counter chase happened between the two groups, leaving a local BCL activist injured. Later, police charged batons to bring the situation control, leaving 30 people of both groups injured.<\/p>\n<p>At one stage, police took Samil Uddin Shimul, MP, to UNO office safely.<\/p>\n<p>The situation is now under control and additional cops have been deployed in the area to avoid any unwanted incident.<\/p>\n<p>Shipganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Atiqul Islam could not be reached on his mobile phone.<\/p>\n<p>However, additional superintendent of police (ASP) Mahbub Alam Khan said the situation was under control when the report was filed.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmaker Salim Uddin Shimul denied making any comment over the incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At least 30 people were injured as two groups of Awami League leaders and activists locked into clash during a celebration of Mujib Year countdown programme at Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj on Friday afternoon.
