{"id":1428,"date":"2019-09-28T18:03:26","date_gmt":"2019-09-28T18:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.jonotarsomoy.com\/?p=1428"},"modified":"2019-09-28T18:03:26","modified_gmt":"2019-09-28T18:03:26","slug":"heavy-rains-kill-50-in-indias-uttar-pradesh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/2019\/09\/28\/heavy-rains-kill-50-in-indias-uttar-pradesh\/","title":{"rendered":"Heavy rains kill 50 in India&#8217;s Uttar Pradesh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Almost 50 people have died in 24 hours due to heavy rains in India\u2019s northern state of Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The state, India\u2019s largest, has witnessed constant rainfall in recent days and rivers have been flowing several notches above warning levels.<\/p>\n<p>The death toll \u201cowing to torrential rain and rain related incidents\u201d reached 48 in the past 24 hours, the state\u2019s relief commissioner G S Priyadarshi said.<\/p>\n<p>The rains have impacted about 580,000 people, mostly in the eastern part of the state where there is increased risk of flooding, Priyadarshi said.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s monsoon usually starts retreating at the start of September but has been delayed by a month this year.
