Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday asked leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to work for welfare of the people being imbued with the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you want to build yourselves as soldier of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, you would have to work for the welfare of the people of the country by keeping away from all the personal gains following the ideology of Bangabandhu,\u201d she told the BCL leaders and activists.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister was addressing as the chief guest a discussion marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day organised by the BCL at her official residence Ganabhaban.<\/p>\n
\u201cBangabandhu scarified his life for the betterment of the people. You would have to work for the people for whom Bangabandhu dedicated his entire life,\u201d she said to the BCL workers.<\/p>\n
A minute\u2019s silence was observed at the function as a mark of respect to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15,1975 carnage.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister also unveiled the cover of the Bangladesh Chhatra League\u2019s regular publication \u201cMatribhumi\u201d and its monthly mouthpiece \u201cJoy Bangla\u201d, which is going to be published regularly from this August.<\/p>\n
A three-minute video documentary on the activities and its role in building the nation and a promo of mobile game on the Liberation War made by Chhatra League leaders, were also screened on the occasion.<\/p>\n
Dhaka South City Chhatra League president Mehedi Hasan and general secretary Md Zobair Hossain, Dhaka North City Chhatra League President Ibrahim Hossain and general secretary Saidur Rahman Hridoy, Dhaka University Chhatra League president Sanjib Chandra Das and general secretary Saddam Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.<\/p>\n
