{"id":113,"date":"2019-06-20T12:23:40","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T12:23:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.jonotarsomoy.com\/?p=113"},"modified":"2019-06-20T12:23:40","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T12:23:40","slug":"sufia-kamals-death-anniversary-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/2019\/06\/20\/sufia-kamals-death-anniversary-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Sufia Kamal\u2019s death anniversary today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 108th birth anniversary of late poet Sufia Kamal is being observed across the country today (Thursday).<\/p>\n<p>A pioneer in movement for women emancipation, Sufia Kamal was born on June 20, 1911 in Shayestabad Nawab family in Barisal.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate messages paying profound respect to the memory of poet Sufia Kamal.<\/p>\n<p>Different social and cultural organisations have taken various programmes marking the anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Begum Sufia Kamal died in Dhaka on November 20 in 1999. She was buried at Azimpur Graveyard with full state honour.<\/p>\n<p>Her remarkable works are \u2018Sanjher Maya, \u2018Maya Kajal\u2019, \u2018Mon O Jibon\u2019, \u2018Shanti O Pranthana,\u2019 \u2018Udatto Brithibi\u2019 and \u2018Diwan\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 108th birth anniversary of late poet Sufia Kamal is being observed across the country today (Thursday).
