{"id":1111,"date":"2019-08-27T11:45:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T11:45:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.jonotarsomoy.com\/?p=1111"},"modified":"2019-08-27T11:45:38","modified_gmt":"2019-08-27T11:45:38","slug":"hearing-in-khaledas-niko-graft-case-sept-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/2019\/08\/27\/hearing-in-khaledas-niko-graft-case-sept-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Hearing in Khaleda&#8217;s Niko graft case Sept 23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Dhaka court has set September 23 as the date for the hearing of the Niko graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and some others.<\/p>\n<p>Dhaka 9th Special Judge&#8217;s Court Judge Sheikh Hafizur Rahman passed the order on Tuesday at the newly-built courtroom in front of the Keraniganj Central Jail.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing was supposed to take place on Tuesday, but jail authorities could not produce Khaleda as she is currently undergoing treatment at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).<\/p>\n<p>The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with Tejgaon police station on December 9, 2007, for abusing power in signing a deal with Canadian company Niko for exploring and extracting gas.<\/p>\n<p>The ACC on May 5, 2008, submitted the charge sheet against 11 people including the BNP chairperson.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Dhaka court has set September 23 as the date for the hearing of the Niko graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and some others.
