{"id":1011,"date":"2019-08-18T17:43:01","date_gmt":"2019-08-18T17:43:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.jonotarsomoy.com\/?p=1011"},"modified":"2019-08-18T17:43:01","modified_gmt":"2019-08-18T17:43:01","slug":"undertake-uplift-schemes-on-priority-basis-pm-asks-ministries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonotarsomoy.com\/en\/2019\/08\/18\/undertake-uplift-schemes-on-priority-basis-pm-asks-ministries\/","title":{"rendered":"Undertake uplift schemes on priority basis, PM asks ministries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked the ministries to undertake development projects on a priority basis for implementation of the annual budget properly and accelerating the country\u2019s uplift.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ministries will have to fix priority that which development schemes are needed first and accordingly, they will have to start the work of those projects,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In this connection, Sheikh Hasina directed the prime minister\u2019s office (PMO) officials to monitor further the work of the ministries so that the work is done properly.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister was exchanging Eid greetings with officials of the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO) here this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Hasina said her government has made spending of budget money much easy. \u201cThere is now no hurdle like the past \u2026 you can do work if you want,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister said there is a good set up of officials in the PMO. \u201cSo they\u2019ll have to increase oversee the work of the ministries so that the work is accomplished properly,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Hasina also asked the officials concerned to launch the physical work of the development works immediately after receding of flood water in this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ll have to finish paper work and plans first and then focus on starting physical work immediately after receding flood water this season,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister urged all to work more sincerely to keep up the country\u2019s achievements. \u201cThe country\u2019s GDP growth increased to 8.1 percent. However the speed of GDP growth becomes slow after the level and it\u2019s a rule of the economy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cSo we\u2019ll have to give more attention and labour and do more work \u2026 we\u2019ll have to remain alert so that we don\u2019t go backward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PM\u2019s advisers HT Imam, Dr Moshiur Rahman and Dr Towfik-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator on the SDG Affairs at the PMO Md Abul Kalam Azad, PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hassan, PM\u2019s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim and Speech Writer Nazrul Islam, among others, were present at the function, while PM\u2019s Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman moderated it.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister stressed the need for revival of some pro-people programmes like \u2018Ghore Fera Project\u2019, Shanti Nibash Project\u2019 and \u2018Oboshor Project\u2019 which were introduced during her previous governments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had taken these schemes for the welfare of the people. But their tenure has expired. So we\u2019ll have to re-launch the projects in the interest of the people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>While talking about her government\u2019s steps for curbing corruption, the prime minister said those who take and give bribe both are equally guilty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe could accomplish many works fast, if steps are taken keeping it in mind,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Pointing out that the Anti-Corruption Commission is active, Sheikh Hasina put emphasis on focusing the issue of paying tax as per the income.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s necessary to take an account that who pays what amount of tax and who spends what amount of money,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The premier put emphasis on keeping neat and cleans the houses, offices and their surrounding areas to effectively fight the dengue menace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should be more careful about cleanliness of our surroundings to combat dengue menace as it was not only a mere problem for our country, but also for other countries,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Hasina said dengue has turned into an epidemic in the Philippines forcing it to declare emergency.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, she also said, \u201cWe should do our own duties without depending on anyone as we have the mentality of following the western world in case of many things.
